historical background of plane crashes in Pakistan.

There have been many air accidents all over the world which the history of humanity could not forget. In the history of Pakistan also there have been some air accidents due to which the whole nation was drowning in mourning.


On May 20, 1965, the first crash in the country's history occurred, in which the PIA Boeing 707 crashed on landing at Cairo Airport in Egypt on its inaugural flight, 
killing all 124 passengers on board.
On August 6, 1970, PIA Fokker F-27 crashed in Rawalpindi, killing all 26 passengers on board.

                                                                  
Nine years later, on November 26, 1979, a PIA Kayak and a Boeing 707 plane carrying pilgrims from Saudi Arabia crashed shortly after takeoff from Jeddah Airport, killing all 156 people on board.
On October 23, 1986,  PIA Fokker Flight 27 crashed while landing in Peshawar, killing all 54 people on board, including 13.
On August 17, 1988, a US-built military C-130 crashed near the city of Bahawalpur, killing 30 military generals and the US ambassador, including President General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq.
On August 25, 1989, a PIA Fokker plane carrying 54 passengers crashed after taking off from Gilgit. The wreckage of the plane has not been found till date.
On September 28, 1992, PIA's Airbus A300 crashed while landing at Kathmandu Airport in Nepal's capital during bad weather, killing all 167 people on board.                        
                                                                
On 19 February 2003, a Pakistan Air Force Fokker F-27 crashed near Kohat. Air Chief Marshal Mushaf Ali, then chief of the Pakistan Air Force, was killed in the crash along with his wife and 15 others.
On February 24, 2003, a Cosena 402B chartered plane carrying an Afghan minister, Mohammad Mohammadi, four other Afghan officials, a Chinese expert and two Pakistani crew members crashed in the Arabian Sea.

                                                                
On July 10, 2006, PIA Fokker F-27 crashed in the air shortly after taking off from Multan for Lahore. The crash killed 41 passengers and four crew members.
On July 28, 2010, a plane of Pakistan's private company Air Blue en route from Karachi to Islamabad crashed in the Margalla hills while landing. The crash killed 152 passengers on board.

On November 5, 2010, an Italian oil company twin-engine plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Karachi, killing 21 people on board.
November 28, 2010 Georgia's Sunway Russian-made cargo plane IL76 crashes shortly after takeoff from Karachi, killing 12 people.
On April 20, 2012, an Airbus 737 of Bhoja Airlines crashed near Islamabad after taking off from Karachi. The crash killed 121 passengers and six crew members on board.

           
On May 8, 2015, a Pakistan Army helicopter crashed near Gilgit. The crash killed eight people, including ambassadors from Norway, the Philippines and Indonesia, as well as the wives of Malaysian and Indonesian ambassadors.
On December 7, 2016, PIA ATR plane crashed on its way to Islamabad from Chitral. The crash killed 48 people, including Junaid Jamshed.
