Derek Carr American footballer

Derek Carr is a professional American football quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He was born on March 28, 1991, in Fresno, California.

Carr played college football at Fresno State, where he set several NCAA records and earned multiple awards for his performances. In 2013, he won the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year award and was a finalist for the prestigious Davey O'Brien Award, given to the best quarterback in college football.

In 2014, Carr was selected by the Raiders in the second round of the NFL Draft. He made his debut in the NFL in the season opener and started all 16 games as a rookie. During his rookie season, Carr threw for 3,270 yards and 21 touchdowns, and was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team.

Over the next few seasons, Carr continued to improve and establish himself as one of the NFL's top quarterbacks. He led the Raiders to the playoffs in 2016 and was named to the Pro Bowl that year. In 2017, he signed a five-year contract extension with the Raiders worth $125 million, making him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league.

Despite having some injuries in 2018 and 2019, Carr remained the Raiders' starting quarterback and continued to play at a high level, throwing for over 4,000 yards in both seasons. In 2020, he had a solid season, finishing with 4,103 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and only 9 interceptions.

Carr is known for his strong arm and accuracy as a passer. He has also been recognized for his leadership and work ethic, and is considered a respected veteran in the locker room. He has a career passer rating of 87.4 and has thrown for over 22,000 yards and 152 touchdowns.

As of my knowledge cutoff in 2021, Derek Carr is still the starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders and the team is looking to improve and build on the solid season they had in 2020. He is considered one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and has a bright future ahead.
